Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, PEI and Nova Scotia all raise their wage floors on October 1, 2026. Ontario goes to $17.95 an hour. The widely quoted $728 a year is a gross, annualised figure. After CPP, EI, federal tax, Ontario tax and the Ontario Health Premium, an Ontario worker keeps about $501 of it, and only about $125 of that lands in 2026.
