Yukon Personal Marginal Income Tax Rates 2026

Yukon’s tax system is the closest thing Canada has to a “federal mirror”: its first three bracket thresholds are identical to the federal ones — $58,523, $117,045, and $181,440 for 2026, indexed by the same 2% factor — and its basic personal amount matches the federal BPA exactly at $16,452, including the same phase-down to $14,829 for top earners. If you understand your federal brackets, you already understand most of Yukon’s.

Where Yukon breaks from the pattern is at the top. Its rates run 6.4%, 9%, 10.9%, 12.8%, and 15% — but the 15% rate only applies above a fixed $500,000 threshold, deliberately aligned with the corporate small business limit and not indexed. That gives Yukon the highest top-bracket entry point in Canada after Newfoundland’s $1.14M: income between $258,482 and $500,000 is taxed at a combined 45.8%, and only above half a million does the rate reach 48% — tied with Alberta for the lowest top combined rate among provinces and second only to the territories’ lower ceilings.

For most Yukoners the practical picture is simply low-and-simple: a 6.4% entry rate (below every province except BC and Ontario), no territorial sales tax, and access to the federal northern residents deductions. A $90,000 earner in Whitehorse faces a 29.5% combined marginal rate — versus 31.48% in Toronto or 37.9% in Halifax at the same income.

With the federal bottom rate at 14% for all of 2026, Yukon’s entry combined rate is 20.4%. Work out your full 2026 territorial and federal bill with our Yukon Tax Calculator.
